(MONCTON, N.B.) – In a hard fought battle for a place in Sunday's championship game, the Cape Breton Capers topped the Memorial Sea-Hawks 1-0 in the semi-final round of the 2015 Subway AUS Women's Soccer Championship being hosted by Université de Moncton.

The No.2-seeded Capers will now face off Sunday at 2 p.m. at Stade Moncton Stadium against the top-seeded Acadia Axewomen. The Axewomen earned their spot in the championship final in the first semi-final matchup, topping the No. 5-seeded StFX X-Women 3-0.

After a scoreless first half, fourth-year Capers defender Kara MacKinnon (Sydney, N.S.) notched the game's lone goal in the 51st minute of play to give Cape Breton the win.

Third-year Capers keeper Lysianne Trottier (Barrie, Ont.) recorded the shutout, stopping six shots on goal from the defending champion Sea-Hawks.

The Capers and the Axewomen will battle it out Sunday for the AUS championship banner and the lone AUS berth at the CIS championship being hosted Nov. 12-15 by the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C.
