WHKY | Voyageurs Shut Out by Lakers
On Saturday afternoon, the Voyageurs women's hockey team was shutout 3-0 by the visiting Nipissing Lakers during Laurentian's Pink In The Rink game. 
 
The first period saw little action as neither team found the back of the net and Nipissing outshot laurentian 6-4. 
 
The second period provided the Vees with 8 minutes of power play but Nipissing's stellar penalty kill prevailed and shut the Vees. Zosia Davis got the Lakers on the board at 12:55 of the second as she found the net behind Karen Collins. Collins stopped the other 22 shots she faced in the frame. 
 
The third ensued with no much action until Kaley Tienhaara doubled the Lakers' lead at 5:27 of the third period on a play assisted by Hunter Mosher. Nearing the end of the third, Nicole Vigilanti received a five minute major providing Hunter Mosher with a penalty shot which resulted in a save by Karen Collins
 
The Lakers' woukd unoficially seal the deal at 12:12 when Maria Dominico gave Nipissing a three goal advantage. Nipissing outshot the Voyageurs 45-23 en route to a 3-0 shutout victory.
