Capers take 1-0 win over Tigers

The Dalhousie Tigers lost 1-0 to the Cape Breton Capers in their last regular season game on Sunday, November 1st. The Tigers travelled to Cape Breton for the game and played with 127 fans in attendance.

In the first half of the game, the Tigers had a strong offence with 6 shots on net which tested Lysianne Trottier (Barrie, ON), Cape Breton's goalie. The Capers capitalized on their one shot in the first half which they finished with a goal from Keona Simmonds (Brampton, ON) off of an assist made by Karolyne Blain (Sudbury, ON). This was Simmonds' 13th goal of the season which earned her first AUS scoring title. The first half finished with the Capers in the lead at 1-0.

Dalhousie's Victoria Parkinson (Halifax, NS), April Trowbridge (Halifax, NS), and Scarlett Smith (Wofville, NS) each had two shots on goal throughout the game, but no one was able to get the ball past Trottier. Cape Breton had 7 shots in the second half, but Dalhousie's Tilda Hadley (Victoria, BC) kept the score at 1-0 which is how the game came to a close with a scoreless second half.

Dalhousie finished the season with 4 wins, 6 losses, and 3 ties at 15 points. Congratulations on a great season to graduating athletes Dorianna Homerski (Waterdown, ON), Katie Morgan (Calgary, AB), Victoria Parkinson (Halifax, NS), Sam MacDonald (Brampton, ON), and Kristy McGregor Bales (Ottawa, ON).
