REGINA, Sask. – CIS Player of the Year Justine Colley poured in 33 points to lead Saint Mary’s to an 83-73 win over Calgary on Sunday afternoon in the bronze-medal game at the 2013 CIS Championship at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

Colley ended up with a tournament-high 33 points and added eight steals, seven rebounds, and five assists in the victory to help Saint Mary’s win its first CIS medal in program history. Laura Langille and Lindsay Panchan both added 14 points for the Huskies, while Naomie Fequiere scored 13.

Tamara Jarrett scored a team-high 21 points for Calgary, while Jessica Franz scored 19 and added 23 rebounds for a huge double-double in the loss.

After running away with the opening quarter and taking a 20-13 lead into the first break, the Dinos seemed in a good position heading into the second. However, things deteriorated in the second as Colley and the Huskies started to heat up, and after outscoring the Dinos 22-13 in the second Saint Mary’s took a two-point lead into the half.

That set up an electrifying third quarter that featured 10 lead changes and five tie scores before the Huskies started to pull away late on the strength of solid three-point shooting. And though the Dinos were able to cut the deficit to as few as three in the dying moments of the fourth, the lead proved too large to overcome and the game ended in a 10-point margin.
