ArcelorMittal Dofasco CIS athletes of the week (#12): York’s Lee, Laval’s Dezutter honoured

OTTAWA (CIS) – Megan Lee, a hockey player from York University, and Thibaud Dezutter, a basketball player from Laval University, are the ArcelorMittal Dofasco CIS female and male athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 22, 2015.

Lee, a fifth-year kinesiology and health science student from Orillia, Ont., was unbeatable last weekend as she turned aside all 68 shots she faced against crosstown rivals Ryerson and Toronto. The veteran goaltender opened the two-game set on Saturday with a 25-save performance in a 4-0 victory over the Rams and was even more impressive on Sunday against the nationally second-ranked Varsity Blues, stopping 39 shots in regulation, four more in overtime and both skaters in the shootout to lead the Lions to a 1-0 win. Lee's save percentage for the season now sits at .937.

Dalhousie swimmer Phoebe Lenderyou, McGill volleyball player Catherine Amyot and Calgary basketball player Claire Colborne were also nominated for the women's award.

Dezutter, a Masters of biology student from Namur, Belgium, scored 33 points on Saturday night to lead the Rouge et Or to an 83-76 road victory over the defending RSEQ champion Bishop's Gaiters. The 6-foot-3 forward, whose stellar all-around performance also included five rebounds and five steals, tallied nine points in the fourth quarter alone as Laval erased an 11-point deficit after halftime to register its first win of the young campaign. Dezutter, a fifth-year senior, currently leads the Quebec conference in scoring and steals.
